Taking This Is Horror Podcast to the Next Level

I often like to take stock of what I’m doing with my life and career to make sure I’m utilising my time effectively and achieving what I want with my life. As a number of you know, there are four big areas of focus right now:

1. This Is Horror Podcast
2. Writing Fiction
3. Studying Japanese
4. Teaching/My Day Job

At different times in my life, different areas have taken centre stage.

There’s a fire in me right now that desperately wants to take This Is Horror Podcast to the next level. The dream would be for me to run This Is Horror Podcast as my main day (and night) job. To make that happen, it needs to be more financially lucrative without compromising the values or reasons I run This Is Horror or derive so much joy from it.

Here’s the vision to take This Is Horror Podcast to the next level.

1. To consistently put out 2 episodes of the show per week.
2. To put all video episodes up in the same week as the audio episodes.
3. For the new ‘Upcoming Books’ section on the This Is Horror website to be the most comprehensive and complete resource for horror fiction in the world. (Check out this week’s new releases.)
4. Every year, a minimum of 50% of This Is Horror guests will be ‘first-time guests’ on the show.
5. To shoutout and give more exposure to more writers on the show—specifically, I will utilise the ‘Upcoming Books’ section on the This Is Horror website to mention upcoming releases (hey, other podcasters and websites, you can utilise it, too).

This is the vision, this is my focus, this is the This Is Horror mission statement! I won’t be able to do all of these things overnight, but I want This Is Horror Podcast to be ‘the people’s podcast’. We say we’re ‘the voice of horror’ and we want to amplify ALL voices.
