Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …
PS Publishing announce new three volume hardback edition of Stephen King’s The Stand
Following on from the success of their multi-volume hardback editions of The Tommyknockers and Salem’s Lot, PS Publishing are working their magic on another of King’s goliath tomes, The Stand. Weighing in at around 1,200 pages, and with sumptuous cover art by Don Maitz (who has described these images as only ‘rough’ versions!), this special edition will be available very soon, from PS Publishing’s online store.
New from Sinister Grin Press, We Are The Accused, by Lucas Mangum, author of Gods of the Dark
New from author Lucas Mangum (Gods of the Dark, Engines of Ruin), comes We Are The Accused, a novella featuring mad gods, lustful demons and an ancient plague-devouring man. All of this converges on a small town in Pennsylvania, where Bianca, an Afghanistan vet-turned-police detective, Boone, a boy with immense power and Lafferty, a priest who hides many secrets, will have to face up to these horrors. With cover artwork by Scott Carpenter, We Are The Accused was released on Tuesday 15 January. You can get hold of your copy of this supernatural novella right now, here.
New from Glenn Rolfe comes Boom Town, a novella of alien horror, available on Nook, Kobo and Apple eBooks only
As the ground rumbles below Eckert, Wisconsin, two pre-teens find something bubbling up to the surface. Before long the whispering refrain is already being heard: ‘Take them, bring them, ascend.’ What follows is described as a mixture of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Blob. What begins as curiosity will end as living hell for the entire town. This eBook only release for users of Apple eBooks, Nook and Kobo, is released 25 January at the price of just $1.99. Learn more at Glenn Rolfe’s website, here.
