There are a number of wonderful books on Amazon Kindle’s subscription service ‘Kindle Unlimited’ and I wanted to create a place where I could share some of those books with our audience. This page is a work in progress that will be constantly updated. As such, I will write in bold when the page was last updated at the bottom of the page. I will arrange listings in alphabetical order by author, and I’ll also include links to This Is Horror Podcast episodes where applicable. If you read a five-star book on KU that you’d like to be considered for this page, please send an email to awards@thisishorror.co.uk, subject line ‘KU Recommendation’ with a sentence on why you enjoyed the book (why awards? Well, if you think it’s a five-star read we want it on our radar for the This Is Horror Awards, too).
Updated on June 2, 2025.
Second update, imagine being a complete idiot (me, MDW) and hilariously sending this live to anyone who still subscribes to posts on This Is Horror when all you have are links to Dean Koontz’s latest book, like you’re some mad Dean Koontz only lunatic. Well, that’s what I just did. So, I should probably point out other authors you should absolutely read whilst this is a work-in-progress. So, in no order: Eric LaRocca, Will Carver, Ania Ahlborn, Laurel Hightower, Brian Asman, Jason Pargin, Gemma Amor, John Niven, Eliza Clarke, Sayaka Murata, Joe R. Lansdale, Jasper Bark, Gwendolyn Kiste, Josh Malerman, Gemma Files, Stephen Graham Jones, Max Booth III, Craig Clevenger, Clay McLeod Chapman, and the list goes on-and-on-and-on.
