When terminally ill cancer patients get healthy after being bitten by bats in South America, the government conducts secret tests with human subjects to see if a virus can cure illness. Instead, it unleashes a swarm of bloodthirsty vampires out of the test subjects, which include death row inmates.
Why we’re looking forward to this: Justin Cronin’s original take on the vampire myth was a corker of a debut novel, and the first of an engaging trilogy, so with Cloverfield and Let Me In director Matt Reeves at the helm, this new television adaptation for 20th Century Fox promises to give the bloodsucking genre some fresh blood.
The Passage is in production and due on our screens next year.
