Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

New anthology, Welcome to the Show, compiled by Matt Hayward and edited by Doug Murano, coming 3 August

Available next week from Crystal Lake Publishing is Welcome to the Show, a new horror anthology set entirely at a fictional music venue in San Francisco called ‘The Shantyman.’ This anthology features seventeen stories by Brian Keene, John Skipp, Mary SanGiovanni, Max Booth III, Rachel Autumn Deering and twelve other outstanding authors. The Sinister Horror Company reveal cover and author list for The Black Room Manuscripts: Volume Four

After the huge success of the first three volumes, both in terms of the quality of the fiction in their pages and their capacity to raise money for good causes, The Sinister Horror Company have revealed the cover of the fourth and final edition of The Black Room Manuscripts series. In this fourth edition, featured authors include Ramsey Campbell, Erik Hoffstatter, Marie O’Regan and Elizabeth Davis. The proceeds of the anthology will go to the homeless charity Shelter and the foreword is provided by This is Horror’s Michael David Wilson. New sci-fi horror novel, Contagion, by Erin Bowman released this week

For fans of authors like Jonathan Maberry and films like 28 Days LaterContagion finds a team following up on a distress call from a distant planet. When they arrive though, they find nothing but an abandoned site, littered with rotten food, discarded equipment and corpses. As the crew investigate, they soon discover that some things are best left buried and that some monsters will take even the smallest opportunities to come back.
