“We Sold Our Souls is classic Grady Hendrix, a Faustian heavy metal road-trip through the nightmare lands of America.”
Things were really looking good for heavy metal band Dürt Würk. The band was having their breakout moment when their lead singer Terry Hunt decided to try the solo gig, then really hit the big time with another band, Koffin, leaving his former bandmates behind in his dust.
Flash forward two decades, and now former Dürt Würk guitarist Kris Pulaski is the manager of a Best Western. Exhausted, depressed, and broke, just when things couldn’t get worse a brutal act of violence upends what little semblance of a life she has, and she suspects Terry might have have wrecked more than just her former band.
Kris decides to hit the road, looking up the rest of the bandmates, aiming to confront the one man responsible for ruining her life. Her travels will take her from the rust belt of Pennsylvania to a celebrity rehab facility to a hellish music festival. She finds herself on an epic journey through a paranoid conspiracy loving, drug-crazed America, where one girl with a guitar is our only hope.
