Look Out For …The Bone Weaver’s Orchard by Sarah Read

The Bone Weaver's Orchard by Sarah Read - cover“A creepy ghost, long-buried secrets, and a young boy who has to know the truth, The Bone Weaver’s Orchard is Read’s first novel, and looks to be one you’ll want to get your hands on quick.”

Every time one of Charley Winslow’s classmates disappear from school, they say: He’s run away from home.

Every time Charley sees the grey figure haunting the halls of his school, they say: It’s just a tall tale.

And Charley could just blend in with his classmates at The Old Cross School for Boys. He could study, and just wait for his father to send for him. After following his pet insects to a pool of blood behind a fake wall, he instead goes deep into the dark tunnels of the school, searching the abandoned passages, picking at a family’s legacy of murder and madness like a dried scab.

Helped by the staff nurse and the school’s gardener, Charley exposes a scandal that leads back to the beginning of the school, back to when it was just a home to a noble family, and there he finds a terrible, dark secret—a secret that stalks the halls at night, twisting itself into a new generation of students, a new generation of nightmares.
