Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

PS Publishing announce Walking With Ghosts, a collection of thirty stories, by Brian James Freeman

Coming this August is a collection of thirty stories, divided into four parts, by Brian James Freeman. The collection comes in a hard cover edition and will feature beautiful artwork, an example of which can be seen enough. The book features an introduction by the late William Peter Blatty (The Exorcist) in which he describes Freeman’s prose as “clean and lovely, painting the canvas of the printed page so unobtrusively yet with such pronounced effect.” When Blatty says this, it means we sit up and take notice. There are signed and jacketed copies, limited to one hundred, for fifty pounds, while the standard hardcover, unsigned is available for twenty pounds. You can place your pre-order here.

Campbell Street Collective bringing Lovecraft’s The Curse of Yig to terrifying life

Campbell Street Collective have taken on the task of bringing H. P. Lovecraft’s The Curse of Yig to life as an audio performance, with a horror film-esque score by Freight Train Rabbit Killer, a musical duo who themselves are an amalgam of blues, folk and horror music. Campbell Street Collective themselves describe the approach as weird and noisy, which seems highly appropriate for a rendition of Lovecraft’s tale. You can check out a preview clip on Soundcloud, below, but do consider their Kickstarter, with which they are hoping to raise the funds to have it pressed onto vinyl, here.
