Show Notes

(0:21:56) In this podcast The Outer Dark presents The Weird: The Next Wave, Readings from Rising Weird Authors at NecronomiCon 2019. This curated (and packed) event is our special treat for listeners, featuring six authors who have not published a novel or collection yet but we believe represent the diverse future of the vibrant literary mode of Weird fiction. Atlanta-based writer/filmmaker Candace Wiggins, reads ‘I’ve Lived in This Place A Long Time’ from Test Patterns, Volume I (Planet X Publications) (0:24:19). Then Hysop Mulero delivers  ‘Quantum Charge Through a Yellow Brick Road’ (0:32:26), and teri.zin, who writes as Zin E. Rocklyn, unleashes the full throttle punch of her work-in-progress  ‘The Night Sun’ (0:42;04). Christopher Ropes offers ‘The Prettiest Girl,’ accepted for the next issue of the groundbreaking Vastarien: A Literary Journal (1:05:25). Fiona Maeve Geist blows minds with ‘Violicious Aureate Orgiastic Abandon’, which may appeal particularly to cinephiles and graduate students (1:18:28). And finally Larissa Glasser shares ‘Rituals of Gorgons,’ her critically acclaimed story from Tragedy Queens: Stories Inspired by Lana Del Ray & Sylvia Plath, edited by Leza Cantoral (Clash Books) (1:28:10). This event was hosted and introduced by Scott Nicolay and Anya Martin and recorded live on Friday August 23 at NecronomiCon 2019.
