Squirrels horrorSolaris Bolsters Its Spring Schedule

Solaris, publisher of science-fiction, horror, and fantasy, has acquired new novels from Steve Rasnic Tem and Graham Edwards for its Spring 2014 schedule. Steve Rasnic Tem’s Blood Kin will be released in March following last year’s critically-acclaimed novel for Solaris, Deadfall Hotel. Graham Edwards’ Talus and the Frozen King will be released in April, telling the story of Talus, the world’s first detective.

New Production to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who

White Witch of Devil’s End, a spin-off from the Doctor Who story The Daemons, is set to be released by Reeltime Pictures. The film stars Damaris Hayman, reprising her role from the original 1971 Jon Pertwee episodes, as Miss Hawthorne. White Witch of Devil’s End is released on 31st October.

The Dead To Rise Again

Following the success of their African zombie road-movie The Dead The Ford Brothers are in post-production with its sequel, The Dead 2: India. It’s the first ever international production of a zombie movie shot in India. The sequel follows the story of an American engineer, Nicholas Burson (Joseph Millson) as he races to reach his pregnant girlfriend, Ishani Sharma (Meenu). Filmed in five weeks, in locations including Mumbai and Delhi, The Dead 2: India promises to match the violence and tenderness of its predecessor.

Arrow Unleashes Motel Hell Trailer Ahead Of Blu-Ray Premiere

Arrow Video have released a brand new trailer for their 1980 cult classic Motel Hell to celebrate its forthcoming blu-ray Deluxe Edition. Bloody, gruesome, and funny as hell, the fully-restored version will feature a plethora of fantastic extras, including a collectors booklet offering new writing on the film by Anno Dracula author, Kim Newman.

Studiocanal Launches Appeal for The Wicker Man Film Materials

Studiocanal, along with director, Robert Hardy, have launched a public appeal to locate original film materials relating to the 1973 horror classic, The Wicker Man. The materials, including negatives unseen in the widely released version, went missing from Shepperton Studios, and were then allegedly used as landfill on the nearby M4 motorway. A special Facebook page has been created to help track down any of the missing materials.

Nicolas Cage to Star in Hotel 33

It has been announced that Nicolas Cage will star in Hotel 33. He’ll star as a detective investigating the disappearance of 32 people on the opening night of the Grand Hotel. Production is expected to begin this September, with Open Road Films set to release the movie theatrically in the US.

I Spit On Your Grave 2 Set for Release This Autumn

Anchor Bay have announced they will release I Spit On Your Grave 2 this coming Autumn, after wrapping production late last year with Stephen R Monroe directing.

Timur Berkmambetov Brings Flesh-eating Squirrels To Cannes

Wanted and Night Watch director, Timur Berkmambetov, is currently producing a film about flesh-eating squirrels. The film was written by Daniel Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin, based on an idea by Bekmambetov. Squirrels will feature at the upcoming Marché Du Film.
