Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

Edited by Jack Dann and featuring twenty-two stories of speculative fiction of all sub-genres, Dreaming in the Dark is the first release from PS Publishing’s new Australian venture. For anyone doubting the quality of the stories on offer, it should be noted that the collection is represented in five separate categories in the Aurealis Awards, Australia’s premier award for speculative fiction. Young Adult horror title Beatrice Beecham’s Cryptic Crypt released today through Crystal Lake Publishing

UK Author Dave Jeffrey’s young adult novel, Beatrice Beecham’s Cryptic Crypt  is released today and features a story aimed at fans of Nancy Drew, The Goonies and more. Taking place in an Atlantic Coastal town called Dorsal Finn, the story features an ancient evil, buried deep below the Earth, which some with malevolent intentions would see freed to wreak havoc on mankind. Only a group of plucky young teenagers are willing to attempt to stop it. The story is aimed at readers of age thirteen and above, but is described as a lot of fun for all ages. THE_VOID_UK_ONE_SHEETCosmic Horror The Void gets UK cinematic release 31 March

The highly anticipated cosmic horror release, The Void will be released in UK cinemas at the end of this month. Already receiving high praise from a variety of critics in four and five star reviews, the film is being described as Stranger Things tangled with Event Horizon. Of course, comparisons are also being made to the work of Lovecraft and others. This certainly looks to be one to check out and the trailer can be found below.
