Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

Based on the novel premise of a reality TV show called PI: Paranormal Investigations, the new novel from Daniel I. Russell finds a young girl, Molly, being offered a place on the show which she grabs with both hands. Unfortunately for Molly, the hauntings associated with the show are more real than she had ever imagined and, with her grandfather having signed a contract she can’t get out of and her need for money, she has no choice but to see the show through. Two Dark Tales, a new double feature release by Charles Lambert

From novelist Charles Lambert (The Children’s HomeThe View From the Tower), comes a double feature release of dark fiction, The Niche and Jack Squat. Presented in a single flip-over style book, The Niche is the story of a bullied schoolboy who finds a hiding place where mysterious voices whisper to him about revenge and in Jack Squat features an unemployed man who finds a new way to make money, selling homes in Italy to would-be expats. Liverpool screen updated 2

Tickets on sale now for Liverpool Horror Con 2017

Featuring movie screenings, chances to meet stars of horror classics The Lost Boys, The People Under the Stairs and more, Liverpool Horror Con is confirmed for the weekend of 7 and 8 October. A film that took fifteen years to make and is sure to occupy your nightmares for some time to come, from Andrew Getty, who tragically passed away two years ago, comes The Evil Within. The story features a handicapped boy who lives with his older brother. When the boy starts passing the time in the company of his own reflection in an antique mirror, a demonic entity begins to communicate with him, telling him to perform evil deeds to ‘fix’ his brain.
