Beyond-Gates

Retro-horror-inspired Beyond The Gates set for 20 February release

After receiving praise at this year’s Frightfest festival, the retro-inspired Beyond the Gates has been scheduled for release on DVD and Blu Ray on 20 February 2017. The film begins with the reuniting of two recently bereaved sons who have to trawl through their father’s VHS video collection, coming across a VHS video-based board game in the process. They start to play the game, ignorant to the fact that they are opening a portal to another dimension. The film features Barbara Crampton (Re-animator) and Graham Skipper among the cast.


PS Publishing announce deluxe re-issue of Stephen King’s Night Shift

Night-ShiftOriginally released in 1978, the chilling Stephen King classic short form collection, Night Shift, is to receive a re-issue from PS Publishing in a deluxe hardcover version, with a slip case. This re-issue will feature an introduction by Marie O’Regan and Paul Kane, while Dave McKean is on hand to provide a series of illustrations which, thus far, look terrific. If you haven’t read the Night Shift collection or simply want to revisit a classic, this seems like a great opportunity and all the information about pre-ordering is here.

 

 

 

 


Psychological horror movie A Cure for Wellness sees first trailer

A-Cure-for-WellnessGenre fans with a penchant for unsettling hospital-based material should be on the look out for a new psychological horror from 20th Century Fox,entitled A Cure for Wellness. Starring Dan Dehaan (The Amazing SpidermanKill your Darlings) as an executive sent to a retreat in Switzerland with a mission to discover what happened to his company’s now insane CEO, he finds himself diagnosed with the same condition and subjected to various treatments. From the looks of the first trailer, below, A Cure for Wellness is going to be creepy.
