Last week we lost not one, but two greats of the genre. Rick Hautala was highly-regarded amongst his peers. In 2011, Rick was awarded the Bram Stoker Lifetime Achievement Award, which he received at the Bram Stoker Awards banquet in Salt Lake City in 2012. The 10 Creepiest Ventriloquist Dummies Of All Time

Forget Chucky and his peroxide bride; forget that silly clown from Poltergeist with its ridiculous giggle and elongating arms. Nothing is scarier than a ventriloquist dummy. Often utilised by their controller to do evil deeds, these wooden little demons are about as funny as a bout of chlamydia while sitting through the box-set of Jo Brand Live. Sell-out is perhaps an unfair term for somebody who simply likes to be surrounded by beautiful, naked actresses whilst being paid relatively large sums of money. This article over at Arrow In The Head investigates.

The A-Z Of Evil Dead: B

B is for Bruce Campbell (and also Boomstick!), the star of the original movies and producer of the upcoming remake. This article over at SFX looks at Ash – the guy who made rudimentary arm-weapons cool before Merle came along – the art of slapstick comedy, and Bruce’s own heroes.
