Win Prizes: Support This Is Horror

Thank you for reading This Is Horror, it really is a pleasure to watch the readership grow on a weekly basis. It is a testament to how much support the genre has on a global level (did you know our readership is split almost equally between the UK, US and Australia?). And whilst our columnist, Shaun Hutson asks this month if traditional horror has died, I would suggest that horror as a whole is very much alive. One needs only to look as far as This Is Horror’s Event of the Year Frightfest to see that this is the case, or the readership of genre magazines like Fangoria and Black Static.

I would like to bring your attention to a couple of posts we ran at the tail-end of last year on This Is Horror. I would also like to invite you all to spread awareness of these posts, whether through your Facebook, Twitter, e-mail list or some other clever means of message transportation. Both posts are wonderful opportunities for you.

First, Win Horror Genre Prizes: Like Us. This is incredibly simple, will only take a few moments of your time and will not only help spread awareness of This Is Horror, but will also give you the opportunity to win some great genre goodies. All you have to do is like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, subscribe to our e-mail or RT our tweet. And in return for each of those clicks we enter you into our prize draw. A prize draw that has many horror prizes up for grabs – and that’s not all, we haven’t even announced all of the prizes. I promise I will announce an exhaustive list this Friday. But beware: this offer expires on Wednesday 1 February 2012, so ensure you get your entries in beforehand.

Second, Win a lifetime subscription to Spectral Press and have your very own chapbook. Aspiring or start-up writers this is a brilliant way to kick-start your career in horror literature. Spectral Press have sold out every chapbook they have published. Gary McMahon’s What they hear in the dark was voted by you as the Chapbook of the Year. Editor and Publisher, Simon Marshall-Jones who heads up the operation will be able to offer you excellent tutelage as a genre professional – this is an opportunity not to be missed. But what if you aren’t a writer? Well you can simply enter your name into a prize draw and you’ll still have the opportunity to win a Spectral Press chapbook. Caution: You have until January 31 2012 to send in your submissions. Please don’t miss this opportunity, it really could be a turning point in your career. What’s the worst that could happen?

As a thank you, I would like to invite all of our readers to e-mail me at Michael@ThisIsHorror.co.uk with absolutely any query, feedback, comment, praise or criticism of the website. I will reply personally to all of your e-mails, irrespective of how many I receive and will feature some of your comments and questions in future articles on This Is Horror.

Thank you so much for your support and helping This Is Horror out.

Michael Wilson
