The Cutting Room – Flight 7500

On a flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo, a plane is shaken by severe weather. When the turbulence subsides, a passenger suddenly dies and a supernatural force is unleashed, overtaking the passengers as they desperately fight to figure out what it is and how to stop it.

Why we’re looking forward to this: We’ve seen a lot of haunted this and that movies over the years, but there haven’t been many haunted aeroplane movies, so Flight 7500 is intriguing for being, if nothing else, at least a little bit different.

The great thing about supernatural things happening in a flying confined space is that none of the passengers have anywhere to run to (unless they happen to be wearing a parachute , of course), so Flight 7500 could potentially crank up the isolation, paranoia and mistrust dials to eleven to give us a tense, creepy and intense ride.

Flight 7500 has us in mind of all the cool horror movie sequences set on planes, from World War Z to Final Destination, from The Twilight Zone’s Nightmare At 20,000 Feet to The Langoliers, and so we’re hoping that director Takashi Shimizu has done his homework here and can deliver another worthy addition to this admittedly small collection.

Flight 7500 will be available on DVD from 12 April 2016.
