The Booking Ramsey Campbell

Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week…

Dark Regions Press Release The Booking  by Ramsey Campbell

The long awaited novella by the veteran genre author, The Booking, was released this past Tuesday 12 July. Available as a special edition hard back from Dark Regions Press as the third in their Black Labyrinth series of releases, it comes with five full colour illustrations by Santiago Caruso. The Booking is the story of Kiefer, a man looking for a job and ultimately finding one in a curious bookshop in England, run by an even more curious owner. As time goes on, he begins to find odd objects lying around the shop and have stranger and stranger experiences. You can order the special edition here.

Infinity Plus release The Quarantined City and The Fall of Tartarus

The Fall of Tartarus

Infinity Plus publishing have recently released two genre titles on to the market, starting with The Quarantined City by James Everington, a mysterious, claustrophobic story of a town which has been shut off from the outside world and in which the protagonist attempts to find the links between the town’s plight, a haunting and the writings of a mysterious, reclusive author. The second title, The Fall of Tartarus by Eric Brown is a sci-fi novel, embodying the idea of Tartarus, not as hell, but as a planet brought to the edge of extinction by the church. As apocalyptic events unfold there, the novel tells the story of the characters who live there as they try to escape or resign themselves to their ends. Information on these and other Infinity Plus releases can be found here.
