Gala opening for Grimmfest

Grimmfest organisers have announced the lineup for this year’s opening gala. The two feature films shown will be Let Us Prey and Suburban Gothic. They will be backed up by short horror film The Herd. There will also be a Q&A with the stars and crew of Let Us Prey. The full lineup for the festival will be announced next week. Spectral Press tribute to Joel Lane

Last year the horror genre lost one our greatest British writers, Joel Lane. Joel passed away in his sleep at the tragically young age of 50. Spectral Press are currently reprinting some of his greatest stories complete with introductions from some of the genre’s finest. The Pyramid is revealed

The Pyramid is the directorial debut of Gregory Levasseur, writer of The Hills Have Eyes remake and Mirrors. The film features an appearance from The Inbetweeners star James Buckley aka Jay Cartwright, however the film doesn’t appear to feature him making any crude sexual references… The film lands on 5 December

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death teaser

The first teaser for the sequel to The Woman in Black has arrived. This dark footage continues the tone of the 2012 box office hit featuring Daniel Radcliffe. The film will be released on 13 February 2015.

Year’s Best Weird Fiction

The first volume of the new series Year’s Best Weird Fiction edited by Laird Barron has arrived as an ebook. The book is available on Nook from Barnes & Noble now. It will be released in physical format on 26 October. You can grab a copy now from the Barnes & Noble website.
