News Round-up Week Ending 2 Ferbuary 2018

Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

HELL CANDIDATEGraham Masterton’s classic political horror The Hell Candidate to be brought back into print by Telos Publishing

Graham Masterton’s 1982 political horror, written to coincide with the Reagan presidency is being revived and re-released by Telos Publishing in 2018. The novel is a story of a politician possessed by a demon and using the forces of evil to sweep all before him as he becomes president of the United States. It’s not difficult to imagine why Telos Publishing decided this would be a good moment to resurrect the book. Publication of the re-issue will come in March and, naturally, we will bring you confirmation of exact dates and availability here on This is Horror, nearer to the time.


pandemonium cover It Sustains Kindle CoverTwo new releases from Bloodshot Books

Bloodshot books have recently launched both The Noctuary: Pandemonium, by Greg Chapman and It Sustains, by Mark Morris.  Chapman’s novel is the story of a psychiatrist who receives a bloodstained manuscript from a writer patient who he has believed is dead for some time, while Morris’ It Sustains is the tale of a young man who, having run away from a gruesome, terrifying past with his father, is forced to face it once again.


2. BitesizePosterAshGlasgow Horror Festival announces ‘Bitesize’ edition in April featuring film, shorts and illusions from special guest Ash Pryce

On Sunday 1 April, those horror aficionados who simply can’t wait for Halloween can take comfort from the Glasgow Horror festival’s new ‘Bitesize’ edition. Taking place at Blackfriars Bar on Bell Street, Popcorn horror have already announced an indie film double feature, a horror raffle and a live show by Ash Pryce which promises illusions and gore.
