News Round-up Week Ending 18 August 2017

Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

New collection by Nadia Bulkin and divination-themed anthology coming soon from Word Horde

Fans of weird fiction will be delighted to know that one of its strongest recent voices, Nadia Bulkin, will be releaseing the collection, She Said Destroy, through Word Horde 20 August. Featuring thirteen stories, accompanied by a foreword by none other than Paul Tremblay, the collection deals with socio-political themes while rooting itself firmly within the weird genre. Three of the stories included are Shirley Jackson award nominees and one of the stories is brand new.

Readers curious about whether man can contact the spirit world, either for fortune telling, or to communicate with passed loved ones, can read a new collection of fourteen tales, edited by Ross E. Lockhart. With the title Tales from a Talking Board, the anthology deals with multiple facets of commune with the hereafter and includes stories from Kristi DeMeester, David James Keaton, Anya Martin and more. The Ghost Horse of Galinas MoorGothic supernatural novel The Ghost Horse of Galinas Moor, by Amanda Aubrey-Burden available now

After the release of her first novel Devil’s Messiah early in 2017, Amanda Aubrey-Burden’s newest release, The Ghost Horse of Galinas Moor, is now available. Featuring a brooding, gothic atmosphere within her native Wales, this period story focuses on a young woman who enters service at Galinas House, only to discover that her very presence has unleashed a gypsy curse. interiorMultiple award winning supernatural horror movie, Interior, available on VOD now

Directed by Zachary Beckler, Interior, by Terror Films, is a twist on the classic haunted house story. Sam, a filmmaker who is down on his luck, is hired by his ex-girlfriend to record the strange happenings in the new house she inhabits with her young family. GNAWBONE-1Throwback creature feature, Gnawbone, coming soon

With his directorial debut Darrin Means has created a classic creature feature movie that harks back to the cinematic monsters of old. The story focusses on Tommy, a young man who witnessed the brutal murder of his grandfather as a child. As part of his therapy, his psychologist urges him to return to the scene of the crime.
