New British Horror Dark Beacon coming later in 2017
Featuring April Pearson (Skins) and John Campling (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Dark Beacon is the story of Amy, a woman who is in love with Beth, who is widowed suddenly and lives with her young daughter. After the death of her husband, Beth takes refuge in a lighthouse in a picturesque but isolated location, only to discover the spirit of her late husband waiting for her, with dark intentions. Sheffield’s Horrorcon UK announces 2017 line-up and ticketing information
Horrorcon UK is just around the corner now, on the weekend of 13 & 14 May, and the line-up for this year’s festival is looking impressive. As well as a chance to meet icons of genre cinema from over the years, there will be a horror costume contest for those attending the event, giveaways, and more besides. Dark Fiction publishing kickstarter 13 Dark up and running and in need of support
Lead by Joseph Sale (The Meaning of the Dark), 13 Dark, is a dark fiction publishing project, seeking funding via kickstarter. With some excellent writing talent already signed up, including Richard Thomas (Tribulations, Gamut Magazine), Moira Katson (Shadowborn) and Veronica Magenta Nero to name but a few, it will also feature artwork by acclaimed comic book artist Shawn Langley. The Kickstarter project already has partnerships set up with Gamut Magazine, Storgy & Dark House Press and is offering a wide range of options for backers. Writers of dark poetry are invited to submit three-line terror to the latest incarnation of Horror Haiku
Produced by Seraph Films, the new season of Horror Haiku is inviting submissions from would-be poets. The theme of the new season is ‘The Museum’. the idea is that poets enter their three-line terror poems in the comments section of Seraph Films’ youtube channel, and the best ones are selected and converted into horror vignettes.
