Crystal Lake to release Visions of the Mutant Rain Forest collection

Crystal Lake publishing have announced what may be the broadest ever collection of short fiction and poetry on the topic of the mutant rain forest. Edited by Robert Frazier and Bruce Boston, Visions of the Mutant Rain Forest features two novelettes, four short stories, two pieces of flash fiction and thirty eight poems on the theme from a wide span of time, including two short stories and five poems which are completely new. Chris Alexander and Barbie Wilde announce film project Blue Eyes

Based on the short story by the same name, Blue Eyes is a forthcoming film project, currently at the kickstarter stage. Directed by Chris Alexander (Queen of Blood, Blood Dynasty) and with the script written by Alexander and author/actress Barbie Wilde (Hellbound: Hellraiser II) the film is set to feature Nivek Ogre, electronic musician and performance artist or Skinny Puppy fame. The premise of the film is of a man whose luck has run out. Wandering the streets where he now lives, he is drawn to a blue light, which leads him to a hole in the ground where a woman lies naked, seemingly dead, with hauntingly blue eyes. Castlevania

Netflix announcement great news for vampire and video game fans

Netflix have announced that they be showing the first season of a new violent animated series based on the classic vampire video game series, Castlevania. According to Netflix’s press release, the series is to be written by none other than Warren Ellis and will feature the Belmont family attempting to restore its reputation in Eastern Europe, by defending it from a plague of vampires. It also promises to feature graphic violence and to ‘turn the vampire mythos on its head.’ Intriguing.
