Look Out For … The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay

The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay - cover

“With a home invasion story pulled right out of the headlines, at once personal and emotional with tension on every page, Tremblay’s latest is poised to be one of 2018’s biggest book releases. “

It was supposed to be a nice, peaceful vacation for Eric, Andrew, and their seven-year-old daughter Wen: a remote cabin on a quiet New Hampshire lake, the closest neighbors over two miles away in either direction.

While Wen is catching grasshoppers in the front yard, a stranger unexpectedly appears in the driveway. Leonard may be the largest man Wen has ever seen, but he’s funny and very friendly. Wen can’t help but to be nice to him. Then Leonard tells Wen he’s sorry,  that “None of what’s going to happen is your fault”.

There are three other people in the woods. They’ve been there the whole time, watching. When they reveal themselves, Wen is scared from the way they look, the things they are carrying. Wen runs inside to warn her parents, but it’s too late.

The strangers need their help to save the world.

Why we’re excited about this book:

With FilmNation acquiring the film rights prior to release, and early acclaim by Stephen King, there’s a lot to be excited for with Paul Tremblay’s The Cabin at the End of the World. With a home invasion story pulled right out of the headlines, at once personal and emotional with tension on every page, Tremblay’s latest is poised to be one of 2018’s biggest book releases. He has his finger on the pulse of our collective fears, and knows exactly how to tap in deep to turn on the pressure.

Published by William Morrow, The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay releases 26 June 2018, and is available for pre-order right now.
