Saturday June 8, 2013 sees the launch of the fourth This Is Horror chapbook, Roadkill by Joseph D’Lacey. To celebrate what will mark the final This Is Horror chapbook for year one we are putting on a very special event at Waterstone’s in Coventry with Joseph D’Lacey, Adam Nevill and Jasper Bark.
Kicking off at 3pm the event will include a mix of readings, interviews and a Q&A with the audience.
This event is free but to ensure we have sufficient seats for this exciting event we ask that you send an email to Michael@thisishorror.co.uk with the subject line ‘Roadkill Launch Coventry’ to confirm your attendance.
Roadkill by Joseph D’Lacey is limited to just 125 copies and is selling fast so to avoid disappointment we recommend that you pre-order Roadkill by Joseph D’Lacey today.
A huge thank you to Tim Sparvero who created the excellent poster for this event.
Joseph D’Lacey is best known for his shocking eco-horror novel Meat. The book has been widely translated and prompted Stephen King to say “Joseph D’Lacey rocks!”. His other published works to-date include Black Feathers, Garbage Man, Snake Eyes, The Kill Crew, The Failing Flesh and Splinters – a collection of his best short stories. He won the British Fantasy Award for Best Newcomer in 2009.
Adam Nevill was born in Birmingham, England, in 1969 and grew up in England and New Zealand. He is the author of the supernatural horror novels, Banquet for the Damned, Apartment 16, The Ritual, Last Days, and the forthcoming House of Small Shadows. In 2012 The Ritual won The August Derleth Award for Best Horror Novel.
Jasper Bark finds writing author biographies and talking about himself in the third person faintly embarrassing. Telling you that he’s an award winning author of four cult novels including the highly acclaimed Way of the Barefoot Zombie, just sounds like boasting. Then he has to mention that he’s written 12 children’s books and hundreds of comics and graphic novels and he wants to just curl up. He cringes when he has to reveal that his work has been translated into nine different languages and is used in schools throughout the UK to help improve literacy, or that he was awarded the This Is Horror Award for his recent anthology Dead Air. Maybe he’s too British, or maybe he just needs a good enema, but he’s glad this bio is now over.
